AAHA Accredited

What Does It Mean to Be AAHA-Accredited?

AAHA-accredited hospitals uphold some of the highest standards in veterinary medicine, ensuring pets receive exceptional, high-quality care. Herrin Animal Hospital recently completed its voluntary American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) evaluation, a comprehensive onsite review conducted every three years. During this process, our hospital is evaluated on more than 900 rigorous standards covering patient care, pain management, surgical protocols, and facility operations. Fewer than 15% of small animal hospitals in North America earn AAHA accreditation, and we are proud to be among this distinguished group.

About AAHA Accreditation

Setting the Standard in Care

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an international organization representing more than 36,000 veterinary professionals who care for companion animals. Founded in 1933, AAHA is recognized for setting some of the highest standards in veterinary medicine.

AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals in the United States and Canada. Hospitals that pursue accreditation voluntarily undergo a comprehensive evaluation of more than 900 standards covering patient care, diagnostics, pharmacy, medical records, management, and facility operations. Regular onsite reviews ensure continued compliance with these rigorous benchmarks.

Accreditation helps veterinary practices stay at the forefront of modern medicine while delivering the high-quality care pets and families deserve.
