At Herrin Animal Hospital, our staff is made up of experienced veterinary professionals who are passionate about animals and committed to delivering compassionate care. Led by Dr. Brent E. Herrin, our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff work together to ensure every pet receives personalized attention and skilled medical care in a welcoming environment. From your first call to every visit, we strive to make sure both you and your pet feel comfortable, supported, and confident in the quality of care we provide.

Dr. Brent E. Herrin
Veterinarian
Dr. Herrin was raised in Cassville, Missouri and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received a Bachelor’s degree and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced for 2 years in north central Indiana in a busy 3 doctor mixed animal practice before moving back to Cassville where he opened the Herrin Animal Hospital in 1996.
Dr. Herrin has a special interest in orthopedic and general surgery and animal behavior but enjoys all aspects of small animal practice. He continues to expand the referral services that the hospital provides to other local veterinarians and he is an ELITE product specialist for Zoetis Animal Health.
He resides on a small farm with his wife, Cordelia, son Eli and daughter Isabel. His family also includes two dogs, Satchel and Lily, and three cats, Huck, Nicky and Stewie. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, gardening and “working” on his small farm.

Sara
Veterinary Technician
Sara, our veterinary technician, joined our team in October 2011 and as our clients know,Sara, our veterinary technician, joined our team in October 2011 and as our clients know, she helps out in all aspects of the hospital. She spent the first few years with us as a receptionist. As she fell in love with veterinary medicine and became more hands-on as a veterinary assistant, she decided to go back to school to become a veterinary technician.
She grew up in northern Iowa and moved to Cassville to be near family. She stays busy at home with two boys, Parker and Seann. Sara enjoys gardening, fishing and playing with her kitties, Stevie and Sophia.

Faith
Veterinary Assistant
Faith began her career with us in July 2024. Faith’s long-time interest in veterinary medicine led her here and she plans to complete a degree in veterinary technology. She lives on her family’s farm and when she isn’t working, she is hanging out with her twin sisters. She enjoys all four of her family dogs, Brownie, Gizmo, Meadow and Whisper.

Kennel Attendant
Alyssa started as a kennel attendant in January 2026
Brook
Client Service Representative
Brook will usually be the first smiling face you encounter behind the reception desk. SheBrook will usually be the first smiling face you encounter behind the reception desk. She joined the team in June of 2025. She and her spouse have a busy household with their human children in addition to Bones, an English bulldog, and Spicy, a kitty that earned her name. When not working, Brook is usually enjoying her son's numerous athletic endeavors or working with her spouse on their new home.

Veterinary Assistant and Lead Kennel Attendant
Hannah joined us in August of 2025 and has developed a strong commitment to caringHannah joined us in August of 2025 and has developed a strong commitment to caring for the animals that stay with us. If your pet is boarded with us or spends a day or two in the hospital, Hannah will make sure they are comfortable and happy. She enjoys live music with friends and family.
